Buyer's Guide
How can I ID which transmission I have?
There are several ways to ID your transmission. The first is to match
your pan configuration to the picture in the item description. If the
years and the pan in the description match, you are good to go. The
second way is to check out the Transmission Exchange Co transmissions by
application ID chart (Link on front page). The third way is to shoot us an email with your vehicle's year, model, engine size, and whether it is 2wd or 4x4, and we will figure it out for you.
How do I add the extended warranty to my transmission purchase?
Most BullRipper HD Automatic transmissions are eligible to upgrade to a 3 year
unlimited mileage warranty. After you have added the transmission you
wish to purchase to your cart, simply go to the “extended warranty”
category and add it to your cart. The extended warranty requires
installing a Transmission Exchange Co high capacity auxiliary
transmission cooler kit in your vehicle. This is available to add to your order in the "Upgrades" section..
How do I know whether I need a Utility or Tow Matrix transmission?
You can never go “too strong” with your transmission, but a general rule
of thumb is that if you are using your rig for extreme applications
like Ambulance, Snow Plow, engine braking, towing, frequent heavy
hauling, etc… the tow matrix is the way to go.
What do you do to a transmission to make it an “Extreme Duty Tow Matrix” unit?
Our Tow Matrix extreme duty transmissions receive the full treatment.
They are built with all steel planets (straight cut when available),
ALTO USA Red Eagle and Kolene performance clutch packs for all clutches,
strongest available Transgo reprogramming kit installed in the valve
body, and any other extreme duty upgrades we can make. They also come
with an extreme duty billet torque converter and extra high capacity
auxiliary transmission cooler (not included with Allison tow matrix
transmissions). Please see the Product Information link for more details.
Which BullRipper HD Automatic transmissions are not eligible for extended warranty?
There are three types of transmissions that are not eligible for upgrade
to extended warranty. These transmissions are fully covered under the
standard 18 month unlimited mileage warranty. They are.. 1.
Transmissions in vehicles with diesel engine 2. Transmissions used for police, taxi, fire engine, and
industrial applications 3. Allison transmissions
What do you do to a transmission to make it a “Heavy Duty Utility” Unit?
Heavy Duty Utility transmissions are upgraded from stock transmissions
for better heat displacement and durability. Each transmission has its
own specific upgrades, but the most common upgrades include heavy duty
“RV” style converters, valve bodies upgraded with Transgo performance
shift kits, high energy lined bands, and ALTO USA commercial clutch
packs for traditionally weak areas. Please see the Product Information link for more details.
